Do I need a domain name?
When starting a website you do need to have a domain name. This is a unique name that directs users to your website when the URL is typed into the address bar.
What if I already have a domain name?
If you currently have a domain name registered with another service then you can still use that one. If you already have a hosting company and are not moving your hosting to a new company then you do not need to do anything. On the other hand if you are moving the physical location of your hosting to another company then you will need to change the DNS to point to the new location. Who owns the domain name if I register it through you?
If you choose to register your domain name through our services, you will be registered as the owner in the national register (WhoIs). You will be free to move your domain name if you ever decide to leave our services or choose to host your website with someone else. |
